If you know me at all, you know I love an intimate wedding. The kind that’s full of meaning, relaxed vibes, and time carved out to actually be with your people. And if you don’t know me yet, hey! I’m Maddy from Missouri, a girl who loves to romanticize the little things, lover of rom-coms, and most importantly your future Intimate Kansas City Wedding Photographer.
There are so many amazing spots around Kansas City to get married, but I wanted to share a few of my absolute favorites, especially if you’re planning a smaller guest count, a more laid-back vibe, or you just want a space that feels like you. These venues are ideal for intimate weddings or micro weddings near Kansas City. Let’s get into it…
5 Best Kansas City wedding venues for Intimate Weddings
1. The Brim
Location: North Kansas City, MO
Vibes: Clean Feel, Modern White Chapel, Rolling Hills
The Brim is one of the dreamiest, most intentional spaces in Kansas City, and it was made for intimate weddings! Let’s picture together, a simple, beautiful white chapel nestled on a hilltop with sweeping views, tall grass, and sunsets that hit just right. Slay. It’s peaceful, full of natural light, and totally customizable, whether you’re doing a quick elopement or a cozy dinner with your closest people.
Why I love it for small weddings: It has a “let’s run away and get married” feel while still being just 20 minutes from downtown. It’s simple but stunning, and totally stress-free.
BONUS: If you’re getting married on a weekday the sweet owners of the brim offer free ceremonies! Yes- I’m not even kidding! Truly the sweetest people.

2. Longview Mansion
Location: Lee’s Summit, MO
Vibes: Elegant Estate, Classic Romantic, Garden Party
This spot is a KC classic and one of my favorite venues KC has to offer! Longview Mansion has all the vintage charm and elegance of an estate wedding, but somehow still manages to feel cozy and romantic. Between the gardens, the historic architecture, and the wraparound porch, it feels like stepping into a dreamy historic romancce movie!
Why it’s perfect for intimate weddings: The outdoor garden space is magical for a small ceremony, and the venue’s layout makes it easy to host a more personal gathering without it feeling too “spread out.” It also photographs like a dream!!

3. The Guild
Location: Crossroads Arts District, KC
Vibes: warm industrial, quaint courtyard, heart of downtown
For my industrial vibe loving couples who want a little downtown charm without sacrificing warmth, The Guild is for you! Think brick walls, floor to ceiling windows, a twinkle-lit courtyard and It has just enough structure to feel put together but leaves plenty of room to make it your own.
Why it works for a smaller wedding: The courtyard gives you the option to keep things intimate and cozy, and the indoor layout doesn’t feel overwhelming if your guest list is on the shorter side! Plus, you’re in the Crossroads! Food lovers dream with after-party options all within walking distance!

4. The Everly
Location: Kansas City, MO
Vibes: clean modern industrial, natural light, heart of downtown
The Everly is another open, modern industrial and perfectly customizable space! With warm brick walls and huge south facing windows the Everly is stunning all day long! If you’re looking for a softer more intimate feel have the staff pull creamy floor to ceiling curtains for a more intimate cozy feel!
Why I recommend it for intimate weddings: The open floor plan makes it easy to design a space that fits your guest count without making it feel empty. It’s elegant but unfussy, the perfect balance for couples who want something beautiful without all the fluff.

5. Powell Gardens
Location: Kingsville, MO (just outside KC)
Vibes: garden party, intimate and quiet, wildflowers galore and cute ponds
If you want something that feels peaceful, nature-filled, and totally unique to the Midwest, Powell Gardens is such a beautiful choice. You’ve got blooming gardens, prairie backdrops, woodsy trails, and the stunning glass chapel! It’s romantic and naturey and honestly the perfect spot for couples who love a serene, relaxed nature vibe!
Why it’s amazing for smaller weddings: The gardens themselve are beautiful especially in the spring, summer and early fall! The glass chapel perfectly overlooks the expansive property and is stunning all times of day any season!
